Group Oral History- WAC Vietnamese Advisors

This OH was conducted with a number of WACs who served as advisors for the Vietnames Women's Armed Forces Corps (WAFC) They discuss difficulties in getting started: ie concern over arming women; dealing with bomb threats, checking desks routinely; advisors flew extensively with Vietnamese Air Force; concern for women's safety during the TET offensive;  COL Rossi replaced COL Gannon who remembers traveling from DaNang and the Mecong Delta inspecting units, saw much of the war. Phillips remembers that mortars blew the gates off their compound! Vietnamese women never wore shoes and not used to our standards, language a major problem.
